While PM Narendra Modi biopic, starring Vivek Oberoi, is still struggling with numerous controversies, makers are going ahead with the release of film's promos. A few minutes back, a new promo of the film, depicting the 2002 Godhra riots, hit social media. 

Sharing the new promo, the official page of the film wrote, “Iss chowkidar ka ek hi gunaah tha, desh ke apna liye farz nibahana! #PMNarendraModi in cinemas 5th April. Also releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Vivek Anand Oberoi #OmungKumar Sandip Ssingh Suresh Oberoi Anand Pandit Motion Pictures Legend Studios #BhushanKumar T-Series”

To talk about the controversies surrounding the film, a few weeks back, veteran lyricists Javed Akhtar and Sameer slammed the makers for using their names on the posters of the film, as they claimed that they didn’t write a single song for them. Later, MNS leader Shalini Thackeray demanded a ban on the movie, ahead of Lok Sabha elections. A few days back, Congress Party met the Election Commission to stall the release of the film, following which Vivek Vivek Oberoi cancelled all media interviews.

Meanwhile, according to Indian Express, the Gujarat Jan Chetna Party has filed a complaint from Surat alleging violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) against the biopic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. S Murali Krishna, Chief Electoral Officer of Gujarat told the leading portal, “This complaint against PM Modi’s biopic is addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and is signed by Divesh Chavda of Gujarat Jan Chetna Party from Surat. The complaint is dated March 24 and we received in on Tuesday evening. “ The complainant alleges that the film based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi violates the MCC.
